Atlus U.S.A. has released additional stock of Demon’s Souls, the recently released action RPG for PlayStation 3, will be making its way to stores across North America this week in response to what it calls overwhelming demand.
“We’re thrilled at the level of interest and acclaim gamers are showing for Demon’s Souls, one of the best reviewed games of the year and one of the highest-rated role-playing games of all time,” stated Aram Jabbari, Manager of PR and Sales for Atlus. “We’re working quickly to get more copies of the game out onto store shelves. We thank fans for supporting a daring, innovative product, and we ask interested gamers to be patient as stock is replenished.”
Atlus also announced that the game’s Deluxe Edition, which featured a 160-page strategy guide and collectible embossed slipcase, is now considered out of print in North America and will not be remanufactured.
Demon’s Souls is out now for PlayStation 3 system and retails with an MSRP of $59.99.

Demon’s Souls unleashed at retail
Atlus U.S.A.’s Demon’s Souls, the action RPG developed by From Software, is now in stores around the country and the servers, which were disabled after the press was done last week, should now be fully operational. In Demon’s Souls players can team up with other players, fight them, or leave them messages to warn them or lie to them thanks to an innovative always connected multiplayer system.
But don’t take my word for it - read Gus Mastrapa’s review. To say he liked it a lot would be an understatement.
Atlus says that its hardcore action RPG developed by From Software is proving to be a niche title, with the company shipping for more units that has for an RPG in a long time. That’s a given, considering how much fans and journalists have been fawning over it. But what consumers need to be aware of is that the game’s online servers - and therefore multiplayer and co-op features - won’t be live until Tuesday, Oct. 6.
What this means, says Atlus, is that users that might manage to pick the game up early and start it up will get an immediate PSN error and have to start playing offline.
So if you get a copy early, good for you but keep in mind that online won’t function properly until sometime on Oct. 6. You have officially been warned, so please spare us all any crying in forums.

In the underworld of Neo Steam lies Demon’s Souls
Neo Steam: The Shattered Continent, Atlus Online’s fantasy-steampunk massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), is releasing its menacing demons, digging deep into the darkness of the world below the shattered continent, for a map that can only be reached by higher-level players. To coincide with the reveal of the Underworld, Neo Steam: The Shattered Continent is hosting a drawing, through purchases of Atlus Crowns between Oct. 2 - Oct. 9, 2009, to win the PlayStation 3 RPG Demon’s Souls.
The Underworld opens up another high-level map for players who have achieved level 91 status or higher. Located far beneath the worlds of Chrysalis, this new area can be accessed from a hidden entrance beneath the twisted roots of the great Mother Tree on the continent in the Taxn Alliance, the third and most neutral world of Neo Steam: The Shattered Continent. TPlayers from the nations of Rogwel and Elerd are invited to seek the elusive doorway to darkness.

The games we're pulling together in this feature won't appear on any of those best-of lists and get confused looks when you mention them in conversation. Just because time has forgotten these titles, though, doesn't mean you should forget them, too.
