Deep Silver signs Prison Break game deal
This will probably not turn out the way it was intended, but Deep Silver has inked a deal with Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising to publish a video game based on the popular Fox television series Prison Break. The game is being developed by Zootfly, will be released by Deep Silver for next gen consoles and PC at an undisclosed date.
The protagonist of the Prison Break game is Company agent Tom Paxton, who is sent to the Fox River State Penitentiary to find out why Michael Scofield (the hero of the TV series), a man without a previous criminal record, became a bank robber. The storyline runs parallel to the first season of Prison Break, with Paxton encountering several characters from the series and experiencing key events from his own perspective.
Good luck Deep Silver.

Risen dated, hit beta milestone
Deep Silver announced that Risen will make its international debut on October 2, 2009. The new RPG from Piranha Bytes, the developers of the popular Gothic series of action games, recently entered into beta. Risen will be available for the Xbox 360 and Windows. Deep Silver says that the game is already “code complete,” with all voiceovers recorded and most of the code ready for vigorous testing and polish. A total of three quality assurance teams are working on the game - one directly at Piranha Bytes, one at Deep Silver, plus an additional external studio. Players can only hope that this new game offers a better localization for English speaking countries in Europe and North America.
Risen is an action role-playing game set in a medieval world on a volcanic Mediterranean island. Much like Gothic, The Risen offer multiples ways to develop the story by actions and decisions. That story unfolds over four chapters. The game also promises a user control interface that supports both casual and hardcore gamers as well as full world streaming support for a seamless experience in the game world.
