Nexon USA claims continued growth in Q3
According to Nexon America, the MMO company saw revenue jump more than 36 percent in the third quarter, a sign, according to Nexon America, that customers are enthusiastic about the company’s slate of games and new content. What helped Q3 numbers the most were revenue numbers for September, which jumped 44 percent, compared to September 2008. This goes along with the company’s growth trend during this past summer when Nexon America’s revenues grew 35 percent in July and 32 percent in August compared to the same time frame last year.
Daniel Kim, Nexon America’s CEO, said that the positive revenue numbers reflect the activity of Nexon’s games — MapleStory, Combat Arms, and Mabinogi — which have all been in service for more than a year. Combat Arms, the most recent addition to Nexon’s service, launched October 1, 2008.
Let’s see how long the trend continues.
Another record month of growth for Nexon America
Nexon America seems to be having a great year. In July and August of this year the online gaming company best known for Maple Story’s success in North America posted record revenue growth, with 35 and 32 percent respective increases over the same months last year. The company announced today that September is looking even better with 44 percent growth in revenues compared to last year. The company says that this is particularly good news because September is traditionally a slow month.
Growth in actual game numbers continue to climb as well with Combat Arms reaching the 3 million registered user mark and MapleStory has exceeding 70,000 concurrent users several times in the last few months.
Combat Arms hits 3 million registered user milestone
Nexon America’s multiplayer online first-person-shooter Combat Arms, recently surpassed three million registered users. The company says that the evolution of Combat Arms’ growth contributed to the explosive growth Nexon America experienced throughout the summer months. Nexon posted a 32 percent increase in revenue for August compared to August of 2008.
Combat Arms, which was launched in July of 2008, added large chunks of new content this past year, including the NutShot game feature, Quarantine Mode and Fireteam Mode. NutShot is exactly how it sounds. Quarantine Mode gives players the opportunity to play as or against infected zombie-like soldiers. Fireteam Mode allows teams of players to take on terrorists in a player-versus-environment setting.
