Mytheon gets a web site makeover
True Games Interactive and development partner Petroglyph have launched a brand new website for their upcoming online multiplayer action-role-playing game, Mytheon.
Located at www.MytheonGame.com, visitors can sign up to take part in the closed beta test scheduled this fall, (the first 1,000 eligible players to register for an account will be guaranteed a spot) check out screenshots and video, read details on the game’s “Power Stones,” read character class descriptions, and learn about the game’s environments.
Mytheon combines the elements from the action-RPG genre with strategic combat and collectability in a persistent online world. Players will apparently be able to challenge legendary mythological gods by wielding potent and unique “Power Stones” that transform into spells, structures and creatures. Naturally, players can loot, forge, buy, sell and trade these stones in the game’s online community, then cast the stones during battles in a 3D mythological world.

Dragonica Online beta sign-ups today
THQ ICE sent out a media advisory this morning announcing that sign-ups for a limited closed beta test of its upcoming MMORPG, Dragonica Online, have begun. A limited amount of activation keys are available and will be issued on a first-come / first-served basis. You can begin the process by visiting dragonica.thqice.com.
Dragonica Online is THQ ICE’s first game. It merges 3D side-scrolling, fast-paced combat and a hilariously devastating skill system - whatever the hell that means. Players join a quest to vanquish the threat of evil, explore a fantastical world, overcome challenges and overcome adventures using a mix of classes, powerful skills, and good old fashioned hard work. More details at the link above.
Dungeon Fighter beta sign-ups open today
Nexon America announced today that it is now accepting closed beta tester applications for its upcoming action-adventure title Dungeon Fighter Online. Those interested gamers should visit dungeonfighter.nexon.net and click on the Apply for Closed Beta button to get started. The deadline for applications is July 6. (Nexon will release the dates of the Closed Beta test at a later time.)
Dungeon Fighter Online promises classic arcade-style action with an immersive RPG fantasy world that is fully free-to-play experience. Individuals who are selected as Closed Beta testers will be among the first in North America to venture into the world of Arad, described as a peaceful land beset on all sides by the forces of darkness. Typical.

Huxley Closed Beta Sign-Ups Opened
You may have assumed that the first person MMO shooter Huxley, was dead. The game was under the Webzen banner before that company had some troubles and the developers moved on the greener pastures. But Huxley hasn’t gone away at all - the game has been in development for quite some time and is now heading into the closed beta phase on NHN USA’s game portal ijji.com. Those interested in checking out this Unreal 3 engine powered shooter should visit the aforementioned link and sign up now.
Huxley: The Dystopia is a combination of massively multiplayer online (MMO) game character development elements and the twitch-based action of an Unreal Engine 3-based first person shooter (FPS). Players are thrust into a world where they must align themselves with one of two races, Sapiens or Alternatives, in the battle to harness meager resources in a war-torn land. Game play is endlessly peppered with attacks from and against the Hybrid, a mysterious third group born of the two races.
We wish them luck with this game, but first-person shooter-based MMO’s seem to be cursed. Games like PlanetSide and Tabula Rasa have failed to capture the hearts and minds of gamers. One thing Huxley and other emerging shooter MMO’s have going for it is a free-to-play model with micro-transactions. But will the game being free be enough to bring players in and keep them playing. That I’m not sure of.

Parabellum Closed Beta Sign-Up Opens
GamersFirst has begun the closed beta signups for Parabellum, its online, team-based action game. Those interested in signing up should visit GamesFirst.
Parabellum is a free-to-play massive multiplayer online First Person Shooter (MMO-FPS) powered by Unreal Engine 3. The game combines first-person shooter action with the persistent world features of an MMO - in addition to a micro-transaction system that allows players to buy improved gear, costumes and other goodies. The game also offers an advanced character & weapon development system.
But all of this is just window dressing for Counter-Strike style game play as either a terrorist or a counter-terrorist vying for important points on maps divided into pint sized battle fields, paths and bonus areas.
You can learn more at www.gamersfirst.com/parabellum.
