EA signs deal with Claire’s for Charm Girls Club games
Electronic Arts has entered into what it calls “an extensive advertising and promotional campaign” with tween retailer Claire’s for the company’s tween themed CHARM GIRLS CLUB game series. Included in the deal is in-game branding like banners and product placement and in-game product placement. Claire’s will apparently have a store in the game’s mall where players will be able to play mini-games, and buy Claire’s branded charms.
EA will also promote Claire’s on the video game’s Web site, for whatever that is worth. As you can tell from this post I am extremly excited about this.
EA targets tweens with Charm Girls Club
The Play Label of Electronic Arts will get a new original video game franchise just for girls: called Charm Girls Club. Yes, I know you are al so very excited. The new Charm Girls Club games are being developed for the Wii and DS and are (obviously) targeting tween girls.
In the game girls are introduced to the Charm Girls, who guide players through mini-games, give them a helping hand, and backing them up when the evil Queen B’s try to intervene. Girls begin by customizing their own charm girl character, choosing from thousands of trendy and stylish combinations, customizing their entire look from head to toe, including their facial features, hair, make-up, wardrobe, shoes and accessories.
Developed by the EA Casual Studios, the Charm Girls Club are scheduled to be available Fall 2009. Find out more at www.charmgirlsclub.com.
