Konami Digital Entertainment announced today that its latest (and some say strangest) entry to the Castlevania franchise, Castlevania Judgment for the Nintendo Wii, has shipped to retail. Produced by legendary Castlevania producer Koji “Iga” Igarashi, the game marks the franchise’s entry into the 3-D fighting arena with a host of characters that span the franchise’s 22-year history, including Simon Belmont, Maria Renard, Dracula and Alucard.

Konami, like every other company, did not go out of its way to make any ground breaking announcements today. During its press conference, the company showed four games and announced a number of new products, but nothing that was not expected already.

The company’s line-up this year’s show consisted of Rock Revolution, Silent Hill Homecoming, Lost in Blue: Shipwrecked for the Wii, Castlevania Order of Ecclesia, Castlevania Judgment, three new DDR games (DanceDanceRevolution UNIVERSE3, DanceDanceRevolution Hottest Party 2 and DanceDanceRevolution X), Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore 2, Rock Revolution, Time Hollow, and the Gene and Gene 2 expansion for Metal Gear Online. Of those, the company showed off four.
