Batman: Arkham Asylum tops UK charts

For the second consecutive week, Batman: Arkham Asylum has managed to stay on top of the charts in the United Kingdom, fending off a challenge from Wii Sports Resort and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on the All Formats Chart - according to retail sales data from ChartTrack for the week ending Sept. 5, 2009. Despite holding on for dear life, Batman’s latest adventure is not the big winner for the week - Call of duty 4 is. The PS3 version is apparently selling like hotcakes thanks to the low price of the PS3 Slim, which is also selling very well.. Full chart after the break.

bafta Call of Duty 4 Wins Big at BAFTAs action

The GAME British Academy Video Games Awards (BAFTAs) are over and the biggest winner was Call of Duty 4. The awards took place at the London Hilton on Park Lane, and were hosted by games aficionado Dara O’Briain. At this gala event some of last year’s biggest games were honored in various categories, while Atari founder Nolan Bushnell was given the BAFTA FELLOWSHIP Award for his contributions to the industry over his long and interesting career.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was the biggest winner of this year’s BAFTA video game awards, picking up top honors in the Action & Adventure, Gameplay, Story and Character categories - along with the only category voted on by players - the GAME Award of 2008. Dead Space also did pretty well, landing awards for Original Score and Use of Audio, while Super Mario Galaxy won the Best Game award this year.

Robert Bowling to Noah Heller: Stop Doing Interviews

pel_-_fire_one!-640x Robert Bowling to Noah Heller: Stop Doing Interviews actionInfinity Ward’s Robert Bowling has a message for Activision’s Noah Heller: talk about your own game, not his. His issue? The constant comparison of his baby to Treyarch’s upcoming game. Basically Bowling, in very blunt words is telling Activision to talk about games they have actually worked on:

“If I see one more Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare google alert come through my inbox, that ends up being a COD:WaW article that is only showing up because YOU referenced Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare more times than you mention World At War,” said Bowling on his blog over the weekend.

Especially when you’re pulling shit out of your ass,” he continued. “Come on man, interview about your game. Not OURS! Call of Duty: World at War can stand on it’s own merits, leave ours out of it.

what’s funny about all this is that Heller works for the company that owns both Treyarch and Infinity Ward. What’s not funny about it? Being called out in public. Bowling’s language gets a bit stronger as the post continues:

Can you guys please stop interviewing this guy, talk to someone who actually works on the Dev Team at Treyarch and knows what the fuck they’re talking about. Not Senior Super Douche Noah Heller from Activision - who apparently has never played the game and doesn’t even work at the developer.

Ouch. Someone is going to need a hug after this but i’m not sure who that is. Can’t we all just get along?
