Second Fallout 3 Game Add-On Pack in stores next week
Bethesda Softworks has posted a note on its official Facebook fan page for Fallout 3 and its blog that next week those that don’t want to buy the Broken Steel and Lookout Point via Games For Windows Live or Xbox Live Marketplace can pick up both in one handy dandy SKU. The second Fallout 3 Game Add-On Pack. There’s not much more to be said about it, besides that it will be available in North America on August 25th on both Games for Windows and Xbox 360.
I guess this is perfect for Xbox Live Silver members who would rather have these add-ons on some physical media.

Fallout 3 PS3 DLC .. in September?!?
I’m not as outraged as the title might lead you to believe about this, but then again, I’m not playing Fallout 3 on the PlayStation 3. According to a blog post by Ashley Cheng, a producer at Bethesda Game Studios, the first downloadable content won’t be out until sometime in September. Today sure is shaping up to be a series of disappointments for gamers.
“So when can you expect Fallout 3 DLC? We are knee deep in testing at the moment, and we’re hoping to have the first DLC out by the end of September. That long? Keep in mind that not only do we need to test each DLC on PS3, we also need to test each DLC when used in conjunction with each of the other DLC, as well as all of them together, along with the entire original game.”
The good news for PS3 Fallout owners is that they may get the DLC in the order they want it. For instance, Broken Steel, which Bethesda says is the most requested of the pack, will be the first one to be released. Broken Steel requires players to finish the main storyline and raises the level cap considerably, so it makes sense to release it first. After Broken Steel, Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt will be released “shortly thereafter” with Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta coming “as soon as they can.”

Fallout 3 DLC for PS3, new DLC for all
Bethesda has plans to deliver even more Fallout 3 downloadable content (DLC) - including a platform that hasn’t gotten a lot of love as of late - the PlayStation 3. The company says that it has been working on implementing DLC on the platform for a while, and the time is almost near for some releases. Operation: Anchorage will be released for PS3 in late June, followed by the release of The Pitt and Broken Steel 4-6 weeks apart. Release dates will be announced for that DLC. In addition, a new update will be released for PS3 that will allow users to download and play it. The release date for that update will be announced at a later date as well.
But the big news coming out of Bethesda today is word that more DLC is coming. Point Lookout, a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content, will be available in late June for Xbox 360 and PC for 800 points or $9.99. It will be available through Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live and through token cards available at retail. Point Lookout will be available on PS3 after the first three DLCs have been released.
Mothership Zeta, a mission revolving around your abduction by aliens, is scheduled for release in late July for Xbox 360 and PC for 800 points or $9.99. It will be available through Xbox Live and Games for Windows Live and through token cards available at retail. Mothership Zeta will be available on PS3 after Point Lookout.
Finally Bethesda announced some upcoming retail packages: Fallout 3 Game Add-on Pack #1 includes The Pitt and Operation: Anchorage on a disc and will be available for Xbox 360 and PC on May 26. The Fallout 3 Game Add-on Pack #2 includes Broken Steel and Point Lookout on a disc and will be available for Xbox 360 and PC in August. Retail versions of these game add-on packs will not be available for PS3. A Fallout 3 Game of the Year edition will be available in October. It will include the original game plus all five add-ons for $59.99 for Xbox 360 and PS3, and $49.99 for PC.
