Body Found May Be Missing Gamer

It’s been less than a month since 15 year old gamer Brandon Crisp left his home and disappeared. Tragically this week, police have recovered a body they believe to be Crisp.

It was reported by various media outlets that police first discovered a tent, jacket, and snacks in the woods just a few miles away from Crisp’s home. There were also reports that Crisp has been spotted walking a nearby trail. On Wednesday, police announced that they had found a body they believe to be Crisp in the wooded area, and that it foul play was not suspected in the case.

“It’s believed at this time it is Brandon Crisp, however there is other medical examination and further investigative work that has to be conducted before we can make that determination one hundred per cent,” said Barrie police Sgt. Dave Goodbrand.

Microsoft Offers Support to Find Missing Gamer

It’s been more than two weeks since 15 year old Brandon Crisp left his home after getting into an argument with his family, which ultimately resulted in his parents taking away his Xbox 360. The family immediately went to the public for help in finding the missing gamer, who apparently was an avid fan of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The family is convinced that Brandon left home to meet with someone he met during his CoD4 gaming.

Microsoft has decided to help out in the search for the missing gamer, offering an additional $25k for information on Crisp’s whereabouts, bringing the total reward to more than $50k. Microsoft has also been working with authorities in Barrie, Ontario to examine the contents of Brandon’s 360 Hard Drive, as well as his Xbox LIVE friends, to try and find any leads. According to Crisp’s family and authorities, Brandon has not logged into his Xbox LIVE account since he disappeared on October 13th.

Meanwhile, authorities have called off their physical search efforts as of yesterday. According to Barrie police Sgt. Dave Goodbrand, “We’ve exhausted our search in the area. We’re going to look through our tips and make a determination of where else to look.”

Goodbrand went on to say, “Where we were searching, we were always concerned what we were going to do if we came across him as time went on,” he said. “We didn’t find him and that means there’s a potential likelihood that he’s hiding out. We don’t want to assume anything at this point because he could be anywhere.”

Foul play is not currently suspected in the case, which is being investigated as a missing persons case. Anyone with information on Brandon’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Barrie Police Department at (705) 725-7025.
