Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers in Dec.
Square Enix will bring Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers for Wii on December 26, 2009. This latest installment in the Nintendo focused franchise (popularized by various titles on the GameCube and DS) promises a fresh take on the Crystal Chronicles universe, this time featuring action-adventure themed gameplay. According to Square Enix the game combines the a deep story, immersive events and graphical quality of the FINAL FANTASY franchise with motion-driven gameplay and the ability to freely explore the game world.
In the newest game in the series a thousand years have passed since the events of the original game. The destruction of the Yuke Crystal during the Great War had at once brought the Lilty Tribe prosperity, the defeated Yuke Tribe apparent annihilation, and the world a new age of science and reason. In this new era exists a rare breed of powerful beings called “crystal bearers,” whose magical abilities have led them to be feared and scorned by the public.
The young mercenary Layle is one such crystal bearer, who has been hired to escort the new passenger airship Alexis, the pinnacle of Lilty technology and a symbol of their current dominance. However, when the Alexis is suddenly besieged by a horde of monsters, Layle comes face-to-face with an adversary thought to have vanished from the pages of history, on a quest that may threaten the future of the world…
Other key features include motion-driven gameplay and controls that are accessible for gamers of all levels, action and third-person shooter style gameplay exploration, object manipulation using the Wii remote, and co-op for what we assume is up to at least 2 - 4 players. Look for the game the day after Christmas.
Playlogic Entertainment’s Fairytale Fights in late October
Playlogic Entertainment’s Fairytale Fights will be available in retail stores nationwide Oct. 27 for Xbox 360 and PS3. The Unreal 3 engine powered mature themed action adventure puts players in charge of a not-so-friendly fairy tale character on a rampage for justice and personal honor.
Inspired by twisted cartoons like Happy Tree Friends and Itchy and Scratchy, and featuring a wildly colorful art style, players can cooperatively complete quests in the single-player storyline or compete in chaotic multiplayer battle with up to 4 players.
Features worth noting include cooperative play for up to four players, over 100 weapons to choose from, the promise of new downloadable content after the game’s release, a volumetric liquid system that makes use of various fluids (blood, vomit, goo) as stimuli for physics based actions and accidents allows players to cut anything off of any enemy anywhere in real time.
Sounds gratuitously violent and cute. The game will be released on Oct. 23 in Europe. More info can be found at www.fairytalefights.com.

Capcom Entertainment announced plans to bring Monster Hunter Tri to North America and Europe in early 2010. Players also have the option to face Monster Hunter Tri’s quests as a single player experience accompanied by Cha-Cha, an AI controlled hunting partner with a particular talent for tracking and trapping. GamesCom attendees will have the opportunity to play the same game that impressed attendees at the Tokyo Game Show by storm, which, according to Capcom, had lines that stretched around its stand as people waited for over five hours to play.

Brash Details Space Chimps Game
Brash Entertainment announced that it is developing a Space Chimps game based on the animated film of the same name produced by Vanguard Animation and presented by Starz Media. The film is being John H. Williams (Shrek and Shrek 2) and Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black, The Addams Family) and features the voice talent of Andy Samberg, Cheryl Hines, Patrick Warburton Kristin Chenoweth and Stanley Tucci. The game’s release will (of course) coincide with the Twentieth Century Fox film release on July 18, 2008.
The CGI animated comedy follows the antics of a circus chimp named Ham (voiced by Samberg) who is the grandson of the first primate ever sent into space. As part of a publicity stunt, Ham is chosen to lead a mission into space to explore a mysterious new planet. But when he and his crew crash land on the bizarre world and find their lives in peril, Ham has to put monkey business aside to keep his crew safe and find a way to get home.
Space Chimps promises 1-2 player action and allows players to alternate between Ham and Luna through 13 levels co-op style (two players or one player and artificial intelligence) taking on over 35 enemies and three bosses. There’’s also a promise of two unlockable cooperative arenas utilizing the chimpball (whatever that is) or traversing on the back of Fluvians (the planet’’s answer to ridable animals).
Brash says that Space Chimp will be released for the PS2, Xbox 360, Wii and DS.
