vg Virtual Goods Summit adds iPhone panel casual The Virtual Goods Summit, a conference dedicated to the virtual goods space in gaming, today unveiled a lineup of new additions to their program, including an iPhone panel, five new speakers and two new lectures. The updated program comes in the wake of new research that projects the virtual goods market will grow to $1 billion in 2009.

In its third year, the Virtual Goods Summit starts on October 29 in San Francisco, CA with the Virtual Goods University, a full day workshop specifically for disseminating information on the fundamentals of virtual goods. On October 30 the Virtual Goods Summit will feature a full day of discussions focused on trends and success stories from individuals at the forefront of digital goods sales and services.

Randy Breen from SGN, Owen Mahoney from Outspark, and Neil Young from ngmoco will take part in a panel called “Virtual Goods and the iPhone”; Jeremy Liew of Lightspeed Venture Partners will be a moderating a panel called “Lessons from the Leaders Panel”; Will O’Brien from TrialPay and Roger Wood from ORCA will take part in the panel “The Payments Landscape – Virtual Goods Payment Options”; and Philip Yun from NHN USA will take part in the “Virtual Goods – A Global Perspective” panel.

In addition, the following lectures and panels have been added to the agenda:

- Publisher Case Study – Launching Your Virtual Goods Offering with Jinen Kamdar, Group Product Manager for Ning

- Managing Dual Currencies with David Jesse, Vice President Product Manager & Business Analytics for Gaia Online

- Virtual Goods and the iPhone Panel with Neil Young, CEO and Founder for ngmoco, and Randy Breen, COO for SGN
