Microsoft Announces Limited Edition Resident Evil 360
Y’know, it’s been a while since Microsoft has released limited edition 360 to the public. In fact, the last one was green and orange Halo edition 360 a couple of years back. Rumors started popping up a few weeks ago that Microsoft was looking at dishing out another limited 360 edition in honor of the upcoming release of Resident Evil 5. Today, Microsoft confirmed those rumors, detailing the new package.
In a press release fired off this morning, Microsoft officially unveiled the “Xbox 360 Resident Evil Limited Edition Console Bundle”. Scheduled to release day and date with RE5 next month on Friday the 13th, the new bundle will feature an Xbox Elite console in a custom red color. The bundle will also feature a matching red wireless controller, a black headset, an exclusive RE5 360 dashboard theme, a copy of Resident Evil 5, and a 120G hard drive preloaded with Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. Wait. Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix? Maybe it’s just me, but I think that would have been better suited if the bundle was for some OTHER Capcom game. Maybe instead, toss in a copy of Dead Rising? But I digress …
Prospective 360 owners eyeing the Elite package might want to hold off for just a couple more weeks. According to store listings, the new RE5 bundle will retail for $399.99 … the same price you’d pay now for a new 360 Elite. And with the RE5 bundle, you get all those goodies tossed in as well. My one nagging question? Will this new RED 360 be plagued with a GREEN ring of death? Just a thought.
