Microsoft: No Next-Gen For Awhile
If you’re itching and twitching (or exhibiting some other type of weird mannerisms best kept to yourself) for the next-generation of the Xbox 360, you’ll be waiting quite awhile. In an interview with the San Jose Mercury News, Microsoft Entertainment and Devices president Robbie Bach said that the next generation won’t be happening anytime soon. Coming up with something faster and prettier won’t do the trick according to Bach. What is needed, he implies, is a formula for getting consumers to adapt new hardware.
Certainly, Microsoft learned a hard lesson in the years since the system’s launch, evident in the extra low price point hat consumers can now take advantage of. Another lesson comes from competitor Sony, who has yet to cut the price of the PS3 and is taking a hit from retail sales of the console worldwide. Thanks, Game | Life.
