Rock & Roll & Gears of War 2

Gears of War 2
“Go to the concert without me, i’m in the shit here..”

Gears of War fans that want a taste of Gears of War 2, like to rock out and want the chance to win a free copy of the game when it is released will probably want to pay attention to Epic and Microsoft’s special Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival contest.

The public will be given the opportunity to attend the first annual Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival and win additional prizes from Epic Games and Xbox 360 - but to win you’ll have to pay attention to the radio.

Now that’s old school. What is this crazy device you speak of, James?, you might be thinking. Well when I was a boy it was a strange and giant wooden case with a glowing green eye (no bullshit on that part - it had a f***king glowing green eye!) lots of test tubes inside and a giant dial that said AM and FM. But I digress.

The contest will be conducted via local radio stations in the 30 participating tour cities, with prizes including tickets to the festival, gift certificates for Gears of War 2 (when it is released in November), Xbox 360 consoles autographed by rock band Slipknot with custom Mayhem Tour faceplates
In addition, in eight select markets of the tour, 40 VIP winners will be awarded access to the Xbox 360 VIP lounge. This magical lounge will allow winners to play the game and even have a multiplayer battle against Slipknot, who will play as the Locust Hordes.

Gears of War 2 will be playable at the Xbox 360 VIP lounge during the following tour destinations:

7/9 Seattle, WA – White River Amphitheatre
7/13 San Bernadino, CA – Glen Helen Pavilion
7/22 Kansas City, MO – Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre
7/25 Dallas, TX – Smirnoff Music Center
7/30 West Palm Beach, FL – Cruzan Amphitheatre
8/5 Boston, MA – Tweeter Center for Performing Arts
8/10 Chicago, IL – First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre
8/17 Washington, DC – Nissan Pavilion

The Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival will tour 30 cities in the U.S. and Canada between July 9 and August 19, 2008. For more information on the event, visit www.mayhemfest.com.

The Games That Time Forgot

The games we're pulling together in this feature won't appear on any of those best-of lists and get confused looks when you mention them in conversation. Just because time has forgotten these titles, though, doesn't mean you should forget them, too.
