Realtime Gets Funding

Scottish game developer Realtime Worlds has raised $50 million in a third round of financing led by Maverick Capital, according to “a source with knowledge of the deal.” According to a report on TechCrunch, the developer behind the successful Xbox 360 game Crackdown and the upcoming cops vs. robbers MMO All Points Bulletin has raised additional capital from CIM Fund and NEA. Montgomery & Co. were advisors on the deal, according to sources. Montgomery & Co. is also reportedly working with Meebo on a new round of financing, as well as doing mergers and acquisitions work for a number startups. They also represented Club Penguin in their $700 million sale deal to Disney last summer. All this means more money for their latest project, APB. (hat tip to videogaming247.com for this TC report).
