Mario & Sonic at the Olympics…Again
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for the DS is now available at retail in North America — in case you didn”t get your fill on the Wii. The wayward plumber and gaming’’s answer to Speedy Gonzalez go at it once again in a series of events to see who has the intestinal fortitude to claim the gold. The game lets you play as your favorite game character from the world of Mario or Sonic (eight from each universe) — in a series of action-themed Olympic events. There are 16 official challenges included as well as two DS-exclusive events: 10m Platform (Diving) and Pursuit (Cycling).
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games also features eight exciting Dream events — five of which are exclusive to the handheld game — Dream Canoe, Dream Boxing, Dream Basketball, Dream Long Jump and Dream Shooting. Dream events takes the whole Olympic sports concept and bring it into videogame-inspired worlds filled with obstacles and power-ups.
Finally the DS version offers three gameplay modes: Single Match Mode (single-event play), Circuit Mode where players can choose (a series of events are played), Mission Mode (a series of solo challenges), Gallery (mini-games and Olympic trivia) and Multiplayer for up to four players.
