Vitals: 39, married, future despot

Education: Bachelor's Degree from Central Michigan University (Fine and Applied Arts) in the study of Broadcast and Cinematic Arts

Publications: For two and half years was an editor/producer for FoxNews.com. For the past decade has been a regular contributor to Newsweek, Consumers Digest, Home Theater, Armchair General, Military Trader, Military Heritage and PC Magazine. In addition has contributed to more than two dozen magazines and Web sites including Wired, Reader's Digest, Computer Shopper, Forbes.com and Sound & Vision.

Platforms played: Virtually every system over the past 25 years from the Atari 2600 to the PlayStation 3. PC is where my gaming heart remains but I believe mobile gaming is the future -- people in China and Africa who never see a PS3 will be able play games on their phones.

Genres played: Strategy and shooters. Historical wargames are my favorites, as these help me plot my eventual conquest of the world. I train strategically with turn-based and real-time strategy games, while I hone us military FPS to my skills with tactics.

Multiplayer or single-player: Multiplayer is great for shooters, but strategy games are best in single-player or co-op type situations. The computer, in a game like Rise of Nations, acts like the real nations. People are unpredictable.

My favorite Top 10 games ever played:

1) Rise of Nations
2) Age of Empires II
3) Age of Empires III
4) Civilization II
5) Cossacks
6) Age of Empires
7) Battlefield 2
8) Battlefield 1942
9) Sid Meier's Pirates
10) Joint Operations

What makes me tick: Iced tea, HDTV, biking in the summer, Harry Turtledove novels, Victorian military history, my helmets.

The Games That Time Forgot

The Games That Time Forgot

The games we're pulling together in this feature won't appear on any of those best-of lists and get confused looks when you mention them in conversation. Just because time has forgotten these titles, though, doesn't mean you should forget them, too.
