Experience: Since 1996, I've contributed features and reviews about modern games to GQ, Spin and Time Out New York. I am also the author of Arcade Fever: The Fan's Guide to the Golden Age of Video Games (2001), a tribute to Donkey Kong and other quarter-sucking classics. For more than you'd ever want to know about me, check out my blog Angry John Sellers, my 2007 music memoir Perfect From Now On: How Indie Rock Saved My Life, and my website.

Platforms: Not counting the Intellivision, Atari 2600, NES or Apple IIe, I am partial to games on the Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3 and Mac. I haven't yet been won over by the Wii, and I have never and will never own a PC.

Preferred genres: First-person shooters, racing titles, sports games, role-playing games, brain-teasers and classic arcade games.

My Top 10 favorite games of all time:

1) Robotron: 2084
2) Halo
3) Zork
4) Grand Theft Auto III
5) Myst
6) MLB 2004
7) Golden Tee
8) Donkey Kong
9) Lode Runner
10) Ultima III: Exodus

But seriously, put any game in front of me and I'll probably find a way to enjoy it -- except Britney's Dance Beat.

John Sellers hasn't rated any games yet. Have you? Find some.

The Games That Time Forgot

The games we're pulling together in this feature won't appear on any of those best-of lists and get confused looks when you mention them in conversation. Just because time has forgotten these titles, though, doesn't mean you should forget them, too.
