What's Hot: Cool new online features; The city hub is a nice addition to the basic game.
What's Not: Not a lot of change between this and the three-year-old DS version; Transferring characters from the DS feels useless.

GIMME!!
City Folk cranks up the online experience from the DS version a few notches. After adding your buddies' friend codes to the game, you can visit their towns, swap items, play games, and even socialize using the new Wii Speak microphone. The online play is definitely an improvement over the DS game, and interaction with others is encouraged. Nintendo even took a cue from
World of Warcraft and added an auction house where you can put your goods up for sale to the whole Wii online community. These features may not be groundbreaking for the Animal Crossing franchise, but they are fun new tricks that freshen up an otherwise stale formula.

Every day is a perfect day for a trip to the city.
If you keep a calendar of AC holidays handy, and you can't end your day until you've picked every last weed from your town -- you're probably checking the daily turnip prices with Nook already. Meanwhile, if you've never picked up Animal Crossing, this version is as good as any to start with. But for everyone in between, the "been there, done that" feeling of
City Folk may not warrant the price of the move.
