The makers of EverQuest (and EverQuest II) try their hand at a pirate-themed MMO. The game is set in the Carribbean during the Ye Olde 1700s. Create your eye-patch-wearing avatar, choose between one of four different careers (Naval Officer, Privateer, Freetrader and Pirate), then swashbuckle to your heart's content. Traverse the game's virtual high seas via one of the 55 or so ships, engaging in some nifty ship-versus-ship combat.

I am not a huge MMO type of person anymore because of our second child we just had. This game makes it really easy to get into it I was very fortunate and happened to pick a good server to play on (not that I would know if there was a bad server because I have not tried any other ones.) Also I joined a good society aka, guild, group, etc...
