First, where is Crispy's? I'm waiting. I am getting my copy of the game (PS3) no matter what the reviews say but I read them anyway. Once again something that bugs me as a reader showed up. Look at G4's review and GameSpots review. http://g4tv.com/games/pc...gon-age-origins/review/

One says the game is too hard and the other says the game is just right. Does this mean one reviewer sucked or that the other was extra nerdy? Are toughness comments helpful if they aren't consistant? Two other examples: Before Gus figured out just how good Tactics type games were he sucked at them and his thoughts needed to be taken with a grain of salt. Love you, man. Scott is currently giving Final Fantasy a shot and as already said he is looking at them in a differnt way. Good for him. While Crispy has gotten closer than any other site I read I still haven't heard a satisfying answer to my peeve.

Our review should be up in a day or two.
I'm definitely picking up the game as well, but for the 360 since I prefer playing on that system. GameSpot's review was 0.5 points lower for the 360 vs. the PS3, but it wasn't super clear why.
There really isn't an objective standard you can review a game under. It's opinion. Reviewers have skill levels, preferred game types, etc. You basically just have to pay attention to who is doing the review and their history and how it matches your feelings.

Generally speaking we try to give games to reviewers who like and are well-versed in that game's genre. This just makes sense, since, for example, I am not going to be qualified to review an RTS game since I hate them. Therefor I have no way of knowing whether one is good or not. Also, my views are basically moot to anyone who would bother to read the review, since you're not going to read it if you also hate RTS games. All that said, though, yes ... it's difficult to determine whether a game is actually hard or a reviewer is just not particularly good at it. It'd probably be wise for reviewers to mention what difficulty level they're playing on, and whether they enjoy games that are challenging or more laid back. For example, I don't play games for challenge and almost never go above "easy" on a difficulty level, but many gamers want a challenging experience and go right for "hard" or worse. -chris

I'm trying to debate between what version I should get. Right now my laptop cant really run Dragon Age Origins. I'm most likely going to get a new one in January.
I think I'm going to wait until then and purchase DAO for the PC due to the graphics and the extra stuff that comes on the PC version. And it being $40 on Amazon right now doesn't hurt things. I asked MSU about what he thought about the 360 version and he likes it certainly so I'm sure I'd enjoy it but price + extra features is pushing me towards PC what do you guys think?
