30 Retro Game Ads in 30 Days: Asteroids (Atari 2600)

For the Atari 2600 version of Asteroids, Atari commissioned a real-life testimonial from a Martian housewife whose family had fallen under the Earthling game's spell. "With everybody hooked on Asteroids," her transmission says, "What on Earth is a poor Martian mother to do?" But there's a subliminal message hidden underneath the family's smiling Joker masks. I played the tape through my special Martian decrypting machine and got the chilling truth:
