Listen closely, and you'll hear the voiceover announcer say, "This commercial is based on a true story." Hmm. Really? A true story? You don't say! Anyway, the gist is that a family bought an Atari 2600, and they enjoy it so much that they never go out anymore. Instead, they are at home gaming together, sitting around their old, crappy television, bouncing in place and cheering. Babysitters keep ringing the house, offering their services. But the mom very cheerfully turns each of them away. It's not clear if the babysitters are calling because they want work, or if they also want to come over and bounce in place and cheer. (Dig that Space Invaders footage. It actually looks really great.) And then the commercial shoots its visual load by having Atari 2600 cartridges come flying directly out of an old, crappy TV. Amazing.
