Choice Quotes from this episode of Blazing Prattles:

Gus Mastrapa: "Right now, most videogames are exploitation. They're a bunch of girls with big boobs, they're guys with big guns, blood and stuff. That's what we want out of games for the most part. There are great games that are very thoughtful. Passage, that indie game that kind of simulated life and death, was a fantastic, thoughtful game and very thought-provoking? When you think about it, movies aren't all thought-provoking and existential. They're mostly about giant robots and mall cops and shopping."

Scott Alexander: "I have a theory about this [console zealotry] ? I think people get attached to [certain game consoles] because they're left alone as children with them and they bond with them, almost like parents. I'm serious."

Scott Jones: "I really thought two things -- gamers getting more sophisticated, becoming smarter; and people starting to own multiple consoles -- would start making fanboy-ism go away. But, it hasn't gone anywhere; it's still there. It's sad and it must be stopped."

Kyle Orland: "My wife was watching me play Portal and I picked up [the Weighted Companion Cube]. When I was told to drop it in the fire at the end of the level, she insisted that I walk around for at least 10 minutes and try and find a way to get out of the level with it, without putting it into the fire."
