Gift you're hoping to give/get: New Car

Game that it goes with: Midnight Club: Los Angeles

Why they'll taste great together: If you're able to get or give a new car, you're already pretty lucky. But, you still won't be able to drive it the way you really want to: pedal to the medal, screeching e-brake turns and top-down for all convertibles, of course. Let out your inner speed demon with the adrenaline-rush street racing of Midnight Club: Los Angeles. The slickly customizable rides in MC: LA do take damage when you ding them up during the cutthroat competition, but you won't have to worry about points on your license or insurance premiums going up.

Gift you're hoping to give/get: A 12-pack of sweat socks

Game that it goes with: NBA 2K9

Why they'll taste great together: Whether you go old-school with some knee-highs or new-cool with tasteful ankle-length accessories, it's a known fact that bringing your "A" game causes undue amounts of foot perspiration. NBA 2K9 provides basketball fanatics with a less moist way to get their hoop on. The dead-on player models and animations will make it feel like you're inside your favorite team's arena. Added bonus: You probably won't leave NBA 2K9 behind in the laundromat dryer.

Gift you're hoping to give/get: Nightlight/Flashlight

Game that it goes with: Left 4 Dead

Why they'll taste great together: It doesn't matter whether you're the one purchasing or unwrapping the portable illumination -- there's no point in being afraid of the dark. Our prescription for nyctophobia? Left 4 Dead. Taking out wave after wave of fast-moving undead in creepy, decrepit buildings should shock the scaredy-cat out of you or your gift recipient. The awesome cooperative play makes for great group therapy, too. Once the fear's overcome, playing as a zombie makes a great reward.

LEGO Batman was the first game I didn't have to help my son play. Then again he thinks Prey the Stars is the bee's knees..

The Games That Time Forgot

The games we're pulling together in this feature won't appear on any of those best-of lists and get confused looks when you mention them in conversation. Just because time has forgotten these titles, though, doesn't mean you should forget them, too.
