Blazing Prattles Podcast
Welcome to Blazing Prattles, the official podcast of Crispy Gamer. When we can tear ourselves away from our keyboards, dance pads and console controllers, we'll get together to discuss the hot-button topics and burning issues of the videogame industry.
Volume #1: For our premiere episode, CG writers Scott Alexander, Scott Jones, Gus Mastrapa and Scott Steinberg join host Evan Narcisse to talk about introducing their loved ones to new obsessions and what they?ve been playing over the holidays. The Blazing Prattles crew also considers the possible causes and effects of the ongoing Wii shortage. (Let's just say that the Wii drought brings up a few painful repressed memories for some of our staffers.) Finally, this installment of Blazing Prattles delves into the hopes for the coming year and the games that we're most looking forward to playing in 2008. Want to know what game Scott Alexander deems ill (and not in a good way) or what virtual space gets dubbed "a great place to commit suicide?" All you need to do is listen. Runtime: 21 minutes, 49 seconds

Volume #2: We've got a super-sized edition this week as we look back at 2007 and discuss Crispy Gamer's Game of the Year awards. Also, CG contributors consider the tension between several prominent game companies and Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine, as well as how much attention gamers should pay to the Consumer Electronics Show and vice versa. We wrap things up with an interview with LucasArts assistant producer Jeffrey Gullett, who tells us about Fracture, the earth-shaking action-adventure coming later this year. Runtime: 42 minutes, 54 seconds

This edition assembles the writers to talk about the impact of videogame awards and what good videogame writing means, in light of recent nominations from the Writer's Guild of America and the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences. We also discuss Sony's prospects for a console comeback in 2008 and talk about newly released and upcoming games we've been playing. Runtime: 34 minutes, 32 seconds
