    @EvanNarcisse:

    I didn't overlay any music, but some of the YouTube kids did. I think 8-bit is becoming more and more normalized in terms of how we hear it. It's less a retro novelty and more another instrument. I'm all for it!

    This is so awesome that I can't even believe it. I feel patriotic. Wait, no, no. That's just some gas from the blue berries I ate this morning.

    I've got a bunch of potential Swag Tester prizes on my desk, but I say that we just play this one for pride.

    @johnteti:

    I don't think it's fair for me to participate, since I was in the e-mail planning thread. That said, there are quire a few games in there that I didn't recognize.

    Anne, can we get a prize for this impromptu contest?

    Ryan!!

    I loved this!

    I especially liked how the various musical styles (both in-game and overlaid, right?) created a weird tension. Going from that loud symphonic riff to the quiet, puny 8-bit sounds of Super Mario Bros. made me laugh.

    We should make a contest for readers to guess every game in the clip, eh?

The Games That Time Forgot

The games we're pulling together in this feature won't appear on any of those best-of lists and get confused looks when you mention them in conversation. Just because time has forgotten these titles, though, doesn't mean you should forget them, too.
