Corpse Run 171: My Little NFL

I really wanted this update to be silly, I really did. I really wanted to use this post to say that I've watched about 13 episodes of that My Little Pony show and find it totally awesome. Also, Fluttershy is totally the best character,Applejack is a close second, though. Kudos for forum member pikachuyoshi for getting me into it!

Unfortunately, I have to talk about GoDaddy. So, as I mentioned last week, I am in the process of moving Corpse Run away from them due to their support of SOPA, and subsequent insincere retraction.

Tonight GoDaddy blocked the transfer.

First off, #%!@ you, GoDaddy. I'm still gonna get this thing done one way or another, but I'm not sure how long that's going to take me; hopefully soon. Anyways, after a GoDaddy rep finished giving me the runaround for a while I said, "You know, this poor customer service is part of the reason people want to move from GoDaddy."

"What?" said the rep, "People don't want to leave us."

I paused, and then said, "So you aren't aware of the fact that a lot of people are leaving GoDaddy?"

"No, I'm not aware."

"So... this is news to you?"

"People are signing up with GoDaddy every day," said the rep.

"People are signing up with GoDaddy because of your commercials, the average person who wants to make a site just associates getting a domain with GoDaddy... they don't know about other options."

"No, people want to sign up with GoDaddy because we're the world's largest registrar."

This guy's ignorance (or company loyalty, either one) was blowing my mind. "That's exactly what I said; people want to sign up with you cause of your size, just like when everyone went with AOL in the 90's because their name just became associated with the internet."

"Well, I'm sorry you feel that way," said the rep.

Long story short, this transfer to the new site might take me longer than I thought.

And the Jets didn't make the playoffs.

Thanks, GoDaddy.

Haha nice manly Fluttershy there

Yep, customer service is something that seems to be lacking big time here in the United States. It could be because most customer service reps are not based here so they don't know what we expect when it comes to providing what customers want. Sorry about the Jets.

Customer service is one of those industries that has been outsourced to places like India but there is still a lot to do since it really shows when we talk to them.
