Wow, do I feel out of place after reading the comments on this strip. I thought it was actually really funny, but I guess not many other people think so. Anyway, keep up the good work Scott!

No longer true my fine feathered friend. He dropped the link to Ding! when he redid his site. Looks better now. Arts improved too. It seems he spent all his time not drawing this comic to improve his other comic, which is for the best imho.

Hey, you know why I keep checking this comic ?

Because there is a link on PvP and that is the fastest way to check the other 2 comics on crispygamers. That is how good I found the new line...

Phables is an okay comic that's occasionally groan-worthy because some of the stories are literally just, "I got lost on the subway and someone was very helpful."

This new incarnation of Ding is completely groan-worthy because it's basically people telling you how they've played a video game. The only things more boring than that are people telling you how they've played a card game or people telling you about their dreams. Nobody cares how you play make-believe with someone else's creation.

For everyone critiquing Scott and his new choice for comics:

Last I checked no one was holding a gun to your heads and making you check for updates. Either you like it and won't admit to it, or you all need to grow up, shut up, and leave. Personally I like these 'cause they're real virtual-life stuff. Who HASN'T accidentally killed someone on auto-follow? Or wanted to nuke an area because none of the creatures you kill drop vital organs?

If you don't like it, congrats, move on so the people that DO like it can enjoy in peace.

    Kthx.

i think it's less the "two comics you don't like" and more the "waiting for about a month for two comics you don't like." but i'm not here to flame. i truly enjoy scott's style and his inking is fantastic, though i'm still trying to get used to the shading over on pvp.

Jim Davis is long dead, just a skeleton lying in bed in his mansion, Garfield strips are produced by an army of robots that slowly go senile without any supervision..and it goes on and on.
(Dilbert in my newspaper today was great :P)

But seriously.. Every time I read this strip again I can feel mind equivalent of wet finger stroke on the glass. Still hoping it'll be back to being funny, keeping my fingers crossed.

Asking for your money back after watching a horrible movie i can understand, but making it sound like it ruined your day because you didn't like two whole updates is just silly, he could have done plenty of other things , like a out of place picture to serve as filler, or giving us some excuse as to why he didn't post a "good" strip. but he did produce a Comic which people can relate too.. if you going to be a Critic don't forget the daily funnies in your newspaper im sure those arn't always gems. go ahead and Post how much you hate this weeks garfield. Tell Jim Davis how you Really feel.

Leave the boards for a bit and the whole world goes to pot. /Sigh. None the less it is true. This is a blog with pictures! Fortunately I like pictures. They distract me from some of the idiotic things posted. First: Congrats Tashta. After getting off the cross you have graced us with your presence and higher authority. Oh...Jesus called and he wants his spot back. You know as the almighty. Second: To cureregret. Wow...Yeah it's been only two comics that weren't funny. In the time span of less than two months. That means two for two in less than two months he missed. A sign maybe?

Ahh I wish people would just enjoy the comic for what it's worth instead of complaining about it. OMG Scott made -2- comics you don't like?! THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END!!

If you don't find the comic enjoyable anymore, get off your ass and make your own.

Tashta: this used to be a nice comic which I am fan of but last two strips are rubbish, so I'm kind of concerned about where it is all going to. Being free doesn't mean it deserves praise for just *being*.

Okay. I just discovered this comic AND I am fairly new to MMORPG's. And, if I notice correctly, this comic is free.

So you guys need something to crap on? Find a good reason and perhaps folks will take you seriously.

As it is, this comic is funny and still worth readin. Some folks have actual lives outside of their basement and their mommy's house. The comic is usually a hobby and amusing past time.

As this prolly is. *shakes head in amazement at the gall folks have over something they don't have a talent hair in hell of comparing to.*

gags about quest drops and auto-follow mishaps are pretty old hat.

For the art work...I shy away from attempting to critique people's artwork, because I can't draw to save my life. The things he draws look like what they're supposed to...mostly

What bugs me is that on Scott's blog, he gushes over Straub's "brave reinventing of starslip" and how he's doing the same thing by adding...shadows. I can understand being experimental, but umm..seriously...Scott, you're about as daring as apple juice.

And what's this premium content bs you're schilling for now? Crispy Gamer already pays you to do Ding! and you can hardly keep that together, do you really think other people are going to pay you for what? Podcasts? Watch you draw the comics? Sit around your office picking your nose and farting?

Show me content worth paying for that you update consistently and we can talk.

    Frankly,

he better stop playing WoW at all. DING was a genious stroke at start because Scott was discovering the MMORPG, just as we were at thoses times. Things he used were things we can relate and were new to us too. Reading old DING issue still make me laugh but with a nostalgic feelings.

This new DING trend is plain lame and unfun, did you notice he doesnt even care to sign it ? The drawing is subpar just when he try a new style in PvP...

Frankly, I dont want WoW Jokes... they doesnt make me laugh and GU Comics did them better. Please, even do a DING! rerun the time you find new ideas and obviously you want to draw them again...

    Re: carrionpigeons

I totally agree. We seem to make funnier stories just in chit chat while playing...such as my idea that we should start a charity fund for all the one- and no-legged spiders out there in Azeroth :)

It doesn't seem that it should be that difficult to at least take the ideas and tie them into some sort of story or humor. I have to admit being dissappointed by the new content myself.

At this point, I really am only checking this page for the comments, which are always worth the lulz.

The comic is truly, truly awful. Crappy, geeky anecdotes that even an ultimo-nerd would have difficulty finding amusing that have simply been transcribed with pictures. It's like a parody of a bad webcomic. It's so bad, it's almost good. And it inspires some very amusing responses.

It's understandable, I guess, to a degree, that Scott ran out of interesting material from his own WoW experience, so I can see turning to other people for ideas. But did he also run out of storytelling ability? Because I can't see why else he would leave these anecdotes as anecdotes (with pictures!), and not, you know, turn them into comics.

Some random guys are frustrated at a low drop rate, and start jumping up and down. Haha. Seriously, try to adapt it enough to the medium that we can pretend like their behavior is meaningful in some way, and not just petulant, useless whining about a game. Even roleplayers would see this as pathetic.

Also, congratulations on only being 9 days late with the comic. Terrible as it is, I think we have to call this improvement. I may actually bother checking back some time in February if this keeps up.

After I tell them to give you a little space about your updates you go and update lol. This is Boogah btw. Bah the blood from the Hellfire Boars is significantly harder to come across because you need 6 of those as opposed to 10 of the Fel Blood.
