Hello again, ladies, gentlemen and googly-eyed E.T.s -- it's official: Crispy Gamer is now being broadcast into space and is currently available on thousands of planets -- and welcome to yet another edition of Ask Uncle Crispy.
Unlike those politicians who've been cutting big time into my TV-watching schedule with these pesky primetime debates -- if I miss another episode of "Grey's Anatomy" because of
you, I'm going to go apeshit -- your old Uncle Crispy never hems or haws on any subject.
Ask me a question, then buckle your seatbelts and brace yourself for the impact of the truth. Because it's coming at you in three, two, one...

The Internet's motto: "All the speculation that's fit to print."
Dear Uncle Crispy: Earlier this week I read a news item on the Net saying that the Wii 2 is already in development, and that it will be out by 2011. I own an Xbox 360, but I was planning on buying a Wii soon. But after reading this, I'm thinking that maybe I should just wait and buy the Wii 2 in a couple of years, because it will no doubt have better graphics. Then I thought ... What would Uncle Crispy do? Thanks.

Uncle Crispy Says: I, too, saw the "news" item that you're referring to. My grandpa -- Great Uncle Crispy Sr. -- had a saying: If it smells like shit, looks like shit, and it's stuck to the bottom of your shoe, and it fell directly out of a butthole, then it's probably shit. Or else it's a copy of
Carnival Games.
But I digress. My point is, lots of news comes out every day. Most of the news that you read is true. But some of it isn't news at all; it's speculation -- which is what this particular "news" item was. Here's what happened: Someone looked at a Nintendo financial report and noticed that the Big N is spending a ton of money on research and development these days. What does this mean? Well, it
could mean that Nintendo is making Wii 2. Or it
could mean that Nintendo is building a time machine so that they can set the dial on said time machine to the year 2005 and prevent
Geist from ever being released.
The point is, who knows what the hell Nintendo is up to these days. Don't believe everything you read. And to answer your question, go buy a Wii.
