Games for Lunch: DT Carnage
In a nutshell: Destruction Derby mixed with pure awfulness.

0:49 It seems unlikely that a racing league would include a race where the goal is to shatter vases on the track, and yet here we are.
0:50 Boy, oh boy, does my new car suck. It's struggling to get up to 60 mph on a shallow hill!
0:51 Quote of the moment: "Some vases appear to be vases, but they are not. Be very careful and wish yourself good luck." Words to live by.
0:53 I get hurt when I shoot torpedoes at a car from point blank range and then killed when I run into a "vase that is not a vase," but an explosive. Bleh. Also, why can't I use the skills I bought?
0:54 While destroying vases is ostensibly the goal, there are also floating "P" icons worth five times as much, and with no chance of explosion. They really seem like the way to go, here.
0:55 I'm automatically retired when I don't finish the lap fast enough. This despite the fact that none of my opponents have finished the lap, either! Good lord, this is a badly designed game.
0:58 Again I fail to finish the lap, despite never hitting a wall or messing up a turn or doing anything badly. Did anyone bother testing or balancing this game?
Would I play this game for more than an hour? No.
Why? I can't think of a worse racing game off the top of my head.
This column is based on a retail copy of the game provided by the publisher.
