Review: Bejeweled 3

Subtitle:
Matching Three Remains Addictive
thumbnail_summary:
If you've played games in the 8 years or so, be it on a phone, console or PC, you've probably run across Bejeweled in some form before. The series has derived huge success due to the beautifully simple and yet super-addicting mechanic of swapping adjacent gems to form sets of three or more.

If you've played games in the 8 years or so, be it on a phone, console or PC, you've probably run across Bejeweled in some form before. The series has derived huge success due to the beautifully simple and yet super-addicting mechanic of swapping adjacent gems to form sets of three or more. PopCap didn't risk the core mechanic of the game when it came time to build a sequel, so Bejeweled 2 simply added new modes that worked with the same gameplay in slightly different degrees.

The “score attack” games that once populated arcades throughout the world have nearly all been replaced by level up systems, achievements/trophies, and movie-like story telling from the comfort of home. Top 5 Ways Fallout Needs to Evolve

Subtitle:
Because Fallout: New Vegas is so last month

When I heard that Bethesda bought the rights to the Fallout IP and had begun working on Fallout 3, I was extremely wary.

When I heard that Bethesda bought the rights to the Fallout IP and had begun working on Fallout 3, I was extremely wary. After all, these were the same people responsible for the beautiful, albeit clumsy, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. When I actually played Fallout 3, most of my fears were either forgotten or assuaged. It was evident that the transition from top down 2D to first person 3D was both necessary and welcome.

Review: Donkey Kong Country Returns

Subtitle:
As Much Fun As A Barrel Of Diddy
thumbnail_summary:
There’s always a level of nostalgia when a great series is rebooted for the current console generation, but where New Super Mario Bros. on DS and Wii revised an old school 2D idea by adding new elements and abilities, Donkey Kong Country Returns mostly plays it safe by bringing the original concept and an innovative level design without extra bells and whistles.
