Vitals: Christopher Buecheler is 31 years old. His first videogame was
Haunted House on the Atari 2600, his first computer was an 8088xt that his parents bought in 1986, and he's been designing and building Web pages (including Crispy Gamer!) professionally for more than 10 years. He currently lives in Brooklyn with his awesome French fiancée and their cats Carbomb and Baron Salvatore H. Lynx II.
Education: Self-taught on the hard streets of middle-class suburban Syracuse.
Publications: In a former life, Chris was known as "shaithis" and wrote many items for GameSpy.com, including the "Resident Cynic" series of articles. He has also had short fiction published in
Greatest Uncommon Denominator Magazine.
Platforms played: Currently: PC, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS. Ever: too many to list.
Genres played: First-/Third-Person Shooter, RPG, Sports, Puzzle and a smattering of everything else. Basically if it's good, he's interested.
Multiplayer or single-player: While he enjoys a game of
NBA 2K8 with a friend now and then, Chris is by and large a single-player gamer, and generally refuses to purchase games that come with no single-player component. He insists that
World of Warcraft doesn't count as "multiplayer-only" because he solo-played somewhere between half and three-quarters of the grind to 60, then ditched it because raiding and the battlegrounds suck.

IRL activities: In his spare time Chris enjoys fiction writing, photography, guitar and drums, exploring New York City, trying new restaurants and bars, watching Iron Chef, following NBA basketball, complaining bitterly about all forms of censorship including bullshit rating systems like the ESRB, and steadfastly refusing to follow politics. He's also trying to learn French!
