We all know that Infogrames wants to buy Atari lock, stock and barrel, but apparently the company is also considering a name change to the more familiar North American brand. Speaking to GI.biz, CEO David Gardner said that the company is considering the name change as part of an overall transformation.
That transformation included the hire of former Sony Computer Entertainment Europe star Phil Harrison and a whole new batch of board members.
While the company may or may not have been serious about turning Infogrames around in the past, this new group of executives is. Infogrames said that its number one goal is to return to profitability in the long-term and hit break even status in the shorter term.
Phil Harrison, in comments to GI.biz also added that this new company is "a start-up."
"We are absolutely a start-up, we're just a start-up with 25 years of history," said Harrison.
